Motherboard is a circuit board also known as printed Circuit board(PCB),
main board, system board.
It is an important component of computer system.
It is the base of computer system, without motherboard you cannot run your system
Hardware components either External (mouse,keyboard) or Internal
(CPU,RAM) are connected to the motherboard.
It also allowsCommunication between hardware and electronic component
of the computer system.
It also contain some hardware like CPU fan, heat sink,CMOS and different
types of Connectors like SATA connector,PATA connector, ports,slots,sockets.
Some main component of motherboard:
Port: It is used for external connectivity means it is used to connect external
device like keyboard, mouse,printer,pen drive

PS/2 port (commonly used to connect keyboard,mouse),
USB port,VGA port(for monitor),parallel port(for printer),audio port(used to
connect headphone,mic)
Slot/socket: It is used to connect internal device like RAM, ROM, CPU.
ex- dual inline memory module slot(for installation of desktop ram),small outline
DIMM slot(for installation of laptop ram),peripheral component interface- express
slot(for installation of sound card,graphic card,LAN card)
Connector: Connectors like serial ATA connector and parallel ATA connector for
hard disk. Now a days commonly SATA connector found in motherboard.
