The Wildlife of India

National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries :

The national park and wildlife sanctuaries are protected natural habitats. In these habitats the human activities such as haunting , mining , cutting of trees etc are strictly prohibited. But Research is allowed by the permit of governing body of the Park.

·         Gir Forest National Park– Asiatic lion – (Gujrat).

·         Great Himalayan National Park – Himachal Pradesh (UNESCO World Heritage site).

·         Indravati National park – Chhastigarh ( Wild Asian buffalo, tiger reserve, hill mynas).

·         Jaldapara national Park – West benal.

·         Kaziranga National park – Assam ( Indian rhinoceros, UNESCO world Heritage site).

·         Kanha National park – Madhya Pradesh.

·         Keibul Lamjao National park – Manipur ( Only floating park in the world).
